Other sea serpents have been sighted and documented throughout history, including:
- The Romsdalfiord sea serpent, which lived off the coast of Norway in the 18th century
- The Gloucester serpent, the Dadalus serpent, and Spartonilious, the great sea serpent that lived off the coast of Rome from 845 B.C. until last seen in 244 A.D.
- Chessie, the sea serpent from in Chesapeake Bay, and Cadborosaurus, seen off the coast of British Columbia in Cadboro Bay
- Morgawr, the Cornish sea monster spotted along the west coast of Scotland
- Kiao and Shan, which swam off the west coast of China
- The great sea serpent Los Legnalos, which swam along the coast of Southern California, during the 17th and 18th centuries
- Brontilius, the great sea serpent often sighted over the mid-Atlantic ocean mountain range for over fifty years
- The Loch Ness Monster, the most famous lake monster of all time; reported sightings date back to 521 A.D.
- Nahuelito, from Argentina, said to live in Nahuel Huapi Lake
- Ogopogo, a lake monster that resides in Lake Okanagan in British Columbia
- Champ, who lives in Lake Champlain in Vermont
- The Lake Seljord Monster in Norway
- The Lake Storsjon Monster, which lives in the fifth largest lake in Sweden
- Carpintilious, the great Chicago lake monster, reported to roam the waters of Lake Michigan was last sighted in January 2004
- Eppicialous of Lake Erie, which is said to be 200 feet long and to sing into the night when the moon is full; first sighted in 1712
